About ERHEAP

Who we are

Equal Right and Health Emancipation Initiative for Young Person and Adolescent (ERHEAP) is a Nigerian community-led organization working to advance health, human rights, dignity, safety and economic empowerment for marginalized and vulnerable populations, with a special focus on adolescents, young people and Key Populations.

Our goal

Rights, health and dignity in the South-South

ERHEAP works to advance human rights, health, and dignity for marginalized persons in the South-South region of Nigeria — meeting people where they are, on their own terms.

  • 1. Reduce stigma and discrimination through advocacy, safe documentation and community engagement.
  • 2. Improve access to health, legal and psychosocial services for vulnerable communities, with special focus on adolescents and young people.
  • 3. Empower adolescents with age-appropriate information, safe spaces and peer support.
  • 4. Amplify lived experiences to influence policy and shift harmful narratives around poverty and rights violations.
