Who we are
Equal Right and Health Emancipation Initiative for Young Person and Adolescent (ERHEAP) is a Nigerian community-led organization working to advance health, human rights, dignity, safety and economic empowerment for marginalized and vulnerable populations, with a special focus on adolescents, young people and Key Populations.
Rights, health and dignity in the South-South
ERHEAP works to advance human rights, health, and dignity for marginalized persons in the South-South region of Nigeria — meeting people where they are, on their own terms.
- 1. Reduce stigma and discrimination through advocacy, safe documentation and community engagement.
- 2. Improve access to health, legal and psychosocial services for vulnerable communities, with special focus on adolescents and young people.
- 3. Empower adolescents with age-appropriate information, safe spaces and peer support.
- 4. Amplify lived experiences to influence policy and shift harmful narratives around poverty and rights violations.

Equal Right and Health Emancipation Initiative for Young Person and Adolescent promotes the health, human rights, dignity and socio-economic well-being of marginalized and vulnerable populations in Nigeria, with a special focus on Key Populations.
We work to ensure that no one is left behind in accessing health services, protection and opportunities because of stigma, discrimination, poverty or criminalization.
